| Description: | General Maintenance Worker (ECMD)
The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Must be able to inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best way to correct them, frequently checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs. Be able understand and obtain supplies and repair parts from distributors, catalogs or local retail stores. Using common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices, must be able to replace or fix worn or broken parts, where necessary, or make adjustments to correct malfunctioning equipment and machines. Be able to perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines/equipment continue to run smoothly. Following a checklist, be able to inspect electronic test equipment, drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions. Must maintain records of work performed. Must be able to carry out several different tasks in a single day, may be at any number of different locations. Must be able work inside a single building or in several different buildings. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in awkward and cramped positions, or on ladders. Expect to work a 60-hour week. Additionally expect some evening, night, or weekend shifts as well as on call for emergency repairs. May be required to operate with limited supervision.

| Qualifications: | Candidate must reside in Yuma or be willing to relocate to Yuma at own expense. Candidate must be familiar with MS Office and the use of email using Microsoft Outlook. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Candidate selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must be granted an Interim Security clearance within 30 days of employment date. |
