POSITION SUMMARY:

Intel Analyst Assistant shall provide support to the Intelligence Research/Analyst and production efforts in the Border Patrol Field Intelligence Center.

 

 

Duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. To assist Intel Analysts/ Intel Researchers in the participation of the collection  management process for the U.S. Border Patrol.
  2. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers with the development and maintenance of the Chief     of Border Patrol's Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs), and the Office of the Border Patrol Strategic Intelligence Collections Plan and Concept Operations.
  3. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers with the development and maintenance of the Border Patrol's Intelligence Collection Requirements (ICRs).
  4. As situational awareness requires, Intel Analyst Assistant will assist in the development of the Request for Information (RFIs) and will assist in maintain and analyze responses to the RFIs.
  5. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers in refine and fuse collected information through the analytical process to produce actionable intelligence to drive U.S. Border Patrol operations.
  6. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers in the coordination and response to received RFIs.
  7. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to plan and carry out all assignments, resolving all conflicts, and makes decisions as necessary to process all-source materials.
  8. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to identify gaps in available intelligence.
  9. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to specify collection requirements.
  10. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to create unprecedented approaches, analytical tools and methods to analyze unique situations and draw accurate and significant conclusions.
  11. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to perform analysis and production tasks relative to broad fields of research and to analyze, evaluate and integrate data from multiple sources to produce non standard and innovative assessments and conclusions in his/her assigned area(s).
  12. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers in the preparation of unique and original analyses, assessments, or other products by applying expert judgment and specialized experience in interpreting information and making decisions.
  13. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to prepare and present briefings on projects, studies and analyses to mid/high level managers and both national and international dignitaries.
  14. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers to plan and carry out all assignments, resolving all conflict, and make decisions as necessary to process all-source materials and  produce precedent setting analyses in his/her assigned area(s).
  15. Assist in the identification of gaps in available intelligence.
  16. Assist Intel Analyst/Researchers.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. This position may require working 8-hour shifts during a 24-hour day, 7 days per week.
  2. Shall have a demonstrated knowledge of terrorism and weapons of mass destruction or drug trafficking or human smuggling.
  3. Experience with or in terrorist organizations, history, operations, and tactics to include an understanding of how the various terrorist organizations operate.
  4. Experience with or in cross-border illicit movement of people, cargo, vehicles, etc., to include identifying suspect trends and patterns.
  5. Experience with or in nationally or internationally established gangs, i.e. Mara Salvatrucha, 18th Street Gang, Le Emme, etc.
  6. Experience with or in handling and safeguarding of classified material, requesting downgrades, etc.
  7. Experience with or in international criminal organizations (or international smuggling) and how the organizations operate and their areas of operation.
Qualifications: 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum of two years of intelligence experience.     
  2. Necessary communication skills
  3. Necessary presentation skills.
  4. Possess knowledge of the law Enforcement and National Intelligence Community agencies and their respective responsibilities and intelligence products.
  5. Possess experience in research of intelligence or law enforcement databases.
  6. Possess a Secret security clearance and as the need arises be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The person selected for this position may be required to sit for prolonged periods. May be required to speak and listen. May be required to stand, kneel, crawl, squat or bend. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs.
